Material Performance for Real-World Parts

Material choice affects more than the performance of the finished part — it also influences machining strategy, dimensional control and finishing.

At LAIRUN, we work with different materials around the functional requirements of each component, helping turn material specifications into reliable machined parts.

Lightweight Structures

For weight-sensitive components, the challenge is balancing lower weight with dimensional stability and structural performance.

Typical Materials: Aluminum Alloys · Titanium Alloys

Strength & Wear

For load-bearing, tooling and wear-resistant components, we consider material condition, hardness and final dimensional accuracy together.

Typical Materials: Carbon Steel · Alloy Steel · Stainless Steel · Bronze

Corrosion Resistance

For parts exposed to moisture, chemicals or corrosive environments, material choice, machining quality and final surface condition all matter.

ypical Materials: Stainless Steel · Titanium · PEEK · PTFE · Nickel Alloys

Electrical & Thermal

For conductive and heat-transfer components, we pay particular attention to functional surfaces, burr control and dimensional requirements.

Typical Materials: Copper · Brass · Aluminum

Insulation & Low Friction

Engineering plastics require different machining control from metals, especially around deformation, heat and dimensional stability.

Typical Materials: POM · PTFE · PEEK · Nylon

High-Temperature

For elevated-temperature applications, both material performance and machining stability become more demanding.

Typical Materials: PEEK · Titanium · Nickel Alloys · Selected Alloy Steels

Surface Finishing & Post-Processing

A machined part is not always finished when the machining stops. Surface treatment can influence appearance, corrosion resistance, wear performance, assembly and even final dimensions.

At LAIRUN, finishing and post-processing are considered together with the material, part geometry and drawing requirements. From anodizing, plating and polishing to passivation, heat treatment and protective coatings, we support and coordinate the required processes while paying attention to critical dimensions, masking areas, coating build-up and cosmetic consistency.
